Bengali Cuisine: Poppy Pomfret Fry..
Ingredients:
- Fried pomfret Fish: 2 pieces (300 gm)
- Mustered oil: 3 tablespoon
- Poppy seed paste: 4 tablespoon
- Chopped onion: 5 tablespoon
- Shredded coconut: 3 tablespoon
- Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon.
- Black cumin seed: 1/2 teaspoon
- Chopped green chili: 2 teaspoon
- Chopped fresh coriander leaves: 2 teaspoon
- Water: 1/2 cup
Processing:
- At first marinate the fish with turmeric and salt for an hour.
- Heated mustered oil in a frying pan and fry the fishes both side until cooked through and keep them aside.
- To the same frying pan add black cumin seed , chopped onion and chopped green chili and saute them for few minutes till you get an aroma.
- Then add poppy seed paste, shredded coconut and turmeric powder and stir it well .
- Add water as per gravy requirement and add salt and sugar as per taste, cook it for 2-3 minutes.
- Add the fried fishes and cook for another 3-4 minutes
- Turn off the flame, then add few drops of mustered oil and keep it cover for 10 minutes.
- Garnish with Chopped fresh coriander leaves and serve with steamed rice.
